Ai statement

The following statement outlines our philosophy toward using artificial intelligence within our creative work. 

We’ve always been open to new ideas and emerging technology. As creators, we welcome anything that helps us improve the quality of our productions and bring more comfort, clarity, and depth to our audience. AI can be a useful creative tool, and we see its potential when used thoughtfully.

Over the past couple of years, we’ve used some AI-generated visuals to accompany our audio recordings. Our work has always been 95% focused on audio production, the visuals are simply there to provide atmosphere and context. In most of our recordings, one of the first instructions is to close your eyes, so visuals have always held far less priority than the quality of the audio itself.

The ai-generated visuals have been an invaluable creative resource that allows us to present our work in a consistent and visually appealing way, and we currently aim to continue using them for that purpose. We did also briefly experiment with AI-generated background music in a couple of videos, to explore its creative potential, but ultimately decided to reject using it any further at this time. 

It’s important to note that the spoken voice you hear in every Honest Guys recording has always been, and will always remain, 100% real. It’s Rick’s voice, each script recorded manually in the studio, speaking directly to you. We believe that genuine human presence is essential to the trust and emotional connection that define our work.

The Bottom line:

At this time, moving forward, all of our audio productions will continue to be entirely human-made: Rick’s real voice, real music composed and performed by real artists, and, to the best of our knowledge, real field-recorded sound effects. 

So while some of our visual material may continue to be AI-generated, everything you hear will always come from real people, created with care, intention, and soul.
